Would taking those large amounts of Carnitine, shutdown your own endogenous production? Probably doesn't matter if you are looking for a fix though...

ALA gave me like a 60-70% personality recovery when i first took it. Not sexual recovery, but humour, mood, dopamine.
It also boosts the PDH enzyme, so I theroize it helped my metabolism.
I did not take much, like 3 mgs every 3 hours, but it passes into the brain for sure.

Would acetyl carnitine work better? It crosses BBB with ALA. pretty sure I’ve seen supplements that contain both ingredients.

That’s a really great read. Of course their caveat: Will not work if ED is a by product of medication....... of course. But who knows. Maybe it gives some guys in here a boost!

you need to restore methylation so you are able to methylate lysine to make carnitine.

since if you take just carnitine, it does increase fatty acid delivery and does allow androgens, but the minute you stop , it goes back to square one, and also it creates free radicals, and causes atherosclerosis.

this is why they use ALA here, since ALA is chelator and it assumes that overtime, it restores methylation and Krebs cycle, by chelating heavy metals out. and fixing glutathione recycling and folate metabolism. ALA is a cofactor for first 3 kreb cycle enzymes. and glutathione is also a cofactor there.
so basically if those go down, you cant get to malic acid. at all. and ATP is down.

Carnitine itself creates free radicals, that is the whole reason why it is not allowed. and methylation is down

which according to tests is impaired in PFS.

there is no folate in all those tests that we saw. Without folate you cant turn methionine synthase and your methylation is down.

with methylation down, you cant deliver fatty acids to build membranes. and your fat oxidation goes down.

thus the body has to break down protein for energy, and cortisol goes up. this creates a lot of ammonia.

and thus urea cycle works in overdrive. which lowers citrulline and arginine and thus nitric oxide( thus androgens dont work) since all they do is release nitric oxide.

@Orion you see this chart Fatigue and Energy - Mitochondrial Energy Blockers

you see which heavy metals block that parts of Kreb cycle

So Al blocks at the ketoglutaric step. I experimented with AAKG last year to see what it would do, no major change, but like you mentioned it is all tightly regulated.

So working on getting methylation up is key... TEI this round is doing something, I feel way more fatigued, hoping that is cortisol coming down.
