WTF is this?
Dr. John Crisler used to be a big proponent against finasteride.. now he's promoting it for use as a topical, and thinks it's safe?!?
Nonsurgical Hair Loss Treatments
"This is a VERY important point: Finasteride is great for slowing, halting, even regrowing hair in some. But it should be applied directly, as a topical cream, to the affected areas on the scalp—not taken as an oral pill. When taken orally, it can negatively affect the entire body. Sometimes permanently. Fatigue, depression, and sexual dysfunction are common negative side effects from taking oral drugs of this class. Those are the side effects mentioned in the article, and were from oral use only. They are avoided by going directly to the hair roots, with a topical cream. Taking a pill to treat hair loss is like filling a tea cup in a thunderstorm."
