The RU/ella route seems to have taken a back seat despite some promising re-bounds from people after a short cycle - anyone who got either delivered after the initial given it a run?
I think there are a few here who plan on trying it for a second run. It will be interesting to see how a short (~3 days) low dose trial affects people.

I just got my second pill of Ella in the mail. I plan on doing a week of inositol beforehand, then 10mg of Ella combined with licorice root for 3 days. During my last Ella run I got a lot of sensitivity back throughout my whole body. Maybe the licorice root will help make the improvements stick better this time.

Sounds good man. Out of curiosity, where did you get the combo of licorice root + Ella? What is the mechanism behind it

So you got the improved sensitivity on the rebound, then it faded after a while, but you kept a higher baseline to right now? Or did it drop off?

Keep us posted on the second run! This stuff still sounds like the most promising thing so far.

TubZy I think gbold mentioned RU + inositol / licorice root might be worth investigating, and I can't get RU easily whereas ella is pretty much OTC here so I thought I'd give it a shot. I don't remember what the exact mechanism is, but I remember reading something about it here in one of the threads. I'll have to see if I can find it again, but it had to do with ella affecting potassium (progesterone), and licorice root sodium (cortisol). And since high progesterone + high cortisol presumably is the thing keeping us stuck in this state, it seems like a good combo. Don't quote me on that though lol.

tanedout I actually started getting improved sensitivity on like day 2/6, after which it fluctuated for a while until dropping down to a slightly improved baseline about a week later. My mood and energy levels were also really good.

I'm adding inositol because the guy who recovered on PSSDforum did a week of it before going on Ella, and afaik no one else has tried recreating his run. It might be important!

Nice man, im actually planning to try inositol, ella and some minerals as suggested for pssd to see if that would make it stick.
Are you planning to cut ella in 6 pieces again or are you going a different route?

Jaxx I'm going to do 3 days of 10mg instead of 6 days of 5mg this time. I'm hoping this will give me the effects I got during the first 3 days of my last run, but stronger. What minerals are you planning to take?

Also IHateFin I recall you saying something about the RU cycle you did + cofactors being a lot more successful than the one without. What cofactors did you take exactly? I might have to add those too.

I think with the balance of estrogen and progesterone being out (stuck with too much prog, and not enough e), licorice root helps because it increases estrogen and reduces cortisol, and the ella will reduce progesterone
Estrogen helps to regulate sperm maturation and libido. Progesterone balances out estrogen levels in men, preventing the male reproductive system from becoming flooded with estrogen.
Deficiencies in estrogen or progesterone can manifest themselves in similar ways. Depression and loss of libido can occur with either imbalance. Estrogen deficiency can cause a loss of bone density, excessive hair growth, or changes in skin pigmentation. Progesterone deficiency can cause hair loss, weight gain, and gynecomastia (an enlargement of the male breast).

I thought Licorice root increases the circulating levels of cortisol in circulation by reducing it's breakdow however

Thats a good alternative to try i guess! I was thinking Copper + Potassium + Magnesium, but i am also looking into the things gbold is currently taking.

Yeah gbolduev said licorice retains sodium while on, but when you come off your body down regulates aldosterone receptors and you dump sodium and this up regulates 5AR (PFS causes sodium retention).

OK, man. I read 10 studies, it does not bind cortisol receptor much much weaker than mifepriston

Ella is identical chemical structure to mifepriston almost

Question for you here gbolduev . A little bit confused by your response to Snell1234 here.

I just trialed RU486 last week and currently on day 9 off. I also have CFS and raising cortisol has always been beneficial for my CFS- it appears the cortisol blocking effects of RU along with a very stressful on the body week (vacation, going out each night, golfing, lots of working out) led me into a bit of a CFS crash the past 4 days.

For that reason, I am considering using Ella in a month or so as I was told it does not block cortisol. But from what you write above, are you saying they are similar in cortisol blockade?

I just really don't want to block cortisol again and if Ella is going to have similar cortisol blocking effects, I may not go down that road. Or I'll just use RU again instead of ordering Ella, but this time have a more relaxing week or so.

Thank you!
Bruschi

I am about to start Ella at 10mg/day for 3 days for PFS.
For the past week, I have been taking low dose progesterone (3mg).
Is there any reason not to discontinue the prog during my trial?

I was thinking of the same question @Jaxx.
The thing is, this Plan B pill is a progestin. Whereas ella and ru486 are anti-progesterones (and ru also blocks cortisol strongly).

Wouldnt coming off it lower your prog potentially?

I may be wrong, but I think its kind of dangerous. Finasteride's a progestin. I can't really prove that it is for sure bad for you. I think it may be like progesterone where people can get better or worse. It may lower prog potentially, but I think there's less risky methods to use. Maybe one of the more experienced guys with hormones can chime in.

I agree, but as more ppl on the pfs forum have tried progesterone i was wondering if there were some experiences with planB here.
