Enlarged Liver

Hello -

Over the last six months, I have had liver issues whereas my enzymes are extremely high and the organ itself is enlarged. The only thing that seems to solve this issue, as weird as it may sound, is beer / alcohol. My enzymes return to a normal state for a couple days after drinking, I was wondering if there is something wrong with ratios (NAD/NADH) that alcohol is temporarily fixing? @Helen or @TubZy have you heard of anything like this before? This liver issue has also coincided with adding about 15lbs. One thing that seems to help is swimming in chlorinated water, which I do about 4-5 times a week. I can tell that it helps as I usually drop 2-3 lbs after a mile and a half swim. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Slightly scary that I am having the persistent liver issues. I have tried several liver supplements and all they did was seem to cause my liver to twitch for a couple of days and now nothing. I have also bought some stuff to make castor oil packs to place on my liver. While alcohol seems to help, I think it might be best to stay away from until I can figure out what exactly is going on.

Yeah PFS gave me liver issues as well (I also had mono and that causes inflamed liver too). What have you tried so far? TUDCA helps really well but ARL helps the best since it is addressing underlying issue. I never had a problem eating high fat diet on ARL no liver pain. I assume to the B vitamins and choline, glutathione working again.

Thanks for the response! I am trying ARL right now, couple weeks in and the liver is still inflamed. Also using a vitamin with beet that is supposed to help. I had bloodwork drawn today and will have have a liver ultrasound next week. Should know more then.

If you are on ARL now and your liver is bothering you a bit it could be from the detox which should subside after a while too, liver enzymes will elevate when detoxing so keep that in mind too

I had elevated enzymes for 1 year, the first 2 months of arl and they rose even further, as tubzy mentioned detox, 1 month of Tudca and enzymes finally went to normal

As far as what's happening, likely flukes or roundworms, very common.. once u detox though immune function should restore,

or u can always rife, liver flush, castor oil packs also helps, Epsom salt baths are good it flushes gall and liver to some degree, helps alot

Thanks @TubZy and @Ocguy - I completed my first castor oil pack last night and, while I know it won't fix me overnight, I feel slightly better this morning. Less pain in the liver are, less bloat, and I even lost a couple lbs. I was up to 225 at my highest and, through swimming and focusing on my liver, I am down to 216 in the morning. I still add some weight during the day, but it is getting better and I am motivated to get back to my 205 where I was prior to all this occurring.

I used to do a castor oil pack, then take an Epson salt bath, or a castor pack then dry sauna with a cheap infrared u can buy on amazon..
Beforehand take antifungals, like coconut oil or Pau d Arco etc and anti parasitics like -black walnut , artemisia, wormwood etc
Rotate. Drink lots of water and remineralize... rest, repeat every other day or every few days depending on how your handling it..

Also don't forget to get on a good prebiotic/probiotic and fiber protocol to repopulate the gut flora, the good bugs don't like all that stuff either.
