yeah , I am aware. I believe natural herbs are much much safer that pharm drugs. Some researchers say that saw palmetto actually only inhibits the binding of DHT to receptor sites. Problem with finasteride is that is stops your liver from even making DHT, and screws up the Gene expression.
Natural or not, Saw Palmetto alone is enough to cause a full blown PFS state, I would not risk it

I heard about that although never took it. My treatment now is minoxidil, and dermaroler sometimes. I'll try to add some salt to ruber my scalp. Dandruff is killing me and its so oily

Don't think it hurt me long run but as per crash I not only thru those away... but left the bldg, also discarded entire bed (possibly extreme, need new bed when I go there nyways tho - it's old and not comfy). Also v hard to move up the stairs.
-I threw away an $80 pillow (water pillow for back and neck, muscle and joint pain).
-I mean i lost way way more than that... but I really liked that pillow. Anyways, it's just a pillow. Threw all of em. Bleached the condo before I left.

Salt scrub are really good
As weird as it sounds following a ketogenic diet regrew my hair, they're really thick while on it. But it may be the opposite for some but I don't feel optimal with this diet. Cycling carbs seem to be the best diet for me now, adding applesauce with cinnamon every 3/4 days
I also had an oily scalp, eliminating calcium/PUFA ( it's everywhere ) helped tremendously
For the dandruff, even though I still relapse depending on my lifestyle , Sauna/sport (sweating is important) , diet and a specific shampoo, usually with Zinc Pyrithione/ or anti dandruff substances made me able to control the issue. I think it's immune/hromone related
The two ( oily scalp and dandruff ) were related to each other

Yeah maybe yrs of fasted training and under 100 and often under 40 and 30g carbs sometimes zero protected hair... mine's from meds tho, but other family's hair was great like mine or also lost --- but never ever in my pattern, at least not males. --hence more like female pattern and thinning a bit then a lot but never again shedding insane amounts.
-I mean like tens of thousands per day. lamotrigine last year 18-20mo ago and also Adderall like 48mo ago and ... dex but way less (but i was on spiro cream too at that point).
-1 nite or 2 on adderall bed covered in hair, 200-300 in sink brushing thru hair.
-counted and photographed scalp for yrs. I went nuts.

Well I don't do keto diet. My carbs are 140g/day maximum is not that much. I also don't eat milk or too much calcium products ( no dairy, sometimes iogurt) but my sleeping is pretty shitty and cortisol it's high so it must be it. I've tried the salt. Gave me some relief tonight although my hair is a little bit hokward. I eat a lot of eggs specially egg white. Egg yolk are rich in biototin that should be helping but probably my body is not using it correctly... In should try sauna but my gym doesn't have and I need to sweet. I don't swet too much on the gym coz i do cardio outside just one or two times a week

Sodium Thiosulfate
Thiosulfate promotes hair growth in mouse model. - PubMed - NCBI
Sci-Hub | | 10.1080/09168451.2018.1518705

ABSTRACT
The present study describes the hair growth-promoting effects of sodium thiosulfate (STS), a widely used compound, in mice. STS accelerated hair growth in the “telogen model”, suggesting that it stimulates telogen hair follicles to reenter the anagen phase of hair growth. In the same model, STS potentiated hair growth in an additive manner with minoxidil (MXD), a drug used for the treatment of androgenic alopecia. Furthermore, in the “anagen model”, STS promoted hair growth, probably by promoting hair follicle proliferation. Since STS elevated the skin surface temperature, its hair growth-promoting activity may be partly due to vasorelaxation, similar to MXD. In addition, STS is known to generate a gaseous mediator, H2S, which has vasorelaxation and anti-inflammatory/anti-oxidative stress activities. Therefore, STS and/or provisionally its metabolite, H2S, may aid the hair growth process. Collectively, these results suggest that salts of thiosulfate may represent a novel and beneficial remedy for hair loss.

Results
Effect of STS treatment in the telogen model
To examine the efficacy of STS in the telogen phase of the hair follicle cell cycle, mice were treated with one of following solutions: control (vehicle: 50% ethanol in water), MXD (1%), and STS (1%, 2%, 4%, or 10%). We calculated the percentage hair growth area per shaved area, and found a significant effect of treat- ment [two-way (treatment × time) repeated measures ANOVA, F(5, 25) = 5.552, P = 0.001] (Figure 2(a)). Notable hair growth promotion was seen in the STS (10%) group following 11-week treatment [P < 0.0007 compared with the control or MXD (1%) group] and in the STS (4%) group following 12-week treatment [P < 0.0290 compared with the control or MXD (1%) group] (Figure 2(b), Supplemental Table 2, Supplemental Figure 1).
The time taken for hair growth to become visible (>10% hair growth area per shaved area) was
significantly shorter in the STS (10%) group com- pared with both the control (P = 0.0088) and the MXD (1%) (P = 0.0216) groups (Figure 2(c), Supplemental Table 3).
These results suggest that STS may stimulate telogen hair follicles to reenter the anagen phase.

Very interested to try this on my scalp .
Goes hand in hand with calcification theory , since Sodium Thiosulfate is a chelator also, right?
Could Sodium Thiosulfate applied on my scalp interfere with levels of minerals in my body? This is the only one thing that i am afraid of... if I put this daily on my scalp for months(3...6..etc) , wouldn't get into the body too..and start chelating stuff, like calcium in the body ? @mattyb @Helen

Thanks

You can find it anywhere... amazon..etc , just search for it on internet... It's very inexpensive.. it's powder , but it's water soluble .. I am thinking to make a solution with 10% Thiosulfate , 20% ethanol for better absorption into the scalp and for the rest water .

I think that...this is why probably ... onions and garlic kind of works for hair growth too... because of the sulfur... and probably other things that onion have..

I started doing salt scubs + onion juice at night (when go to bed - I leave it in). Let's see if it works.

I do salt scrubs 2-3 times a day. Also at work. I also apply the water mixed with salt. I also massage my scalp when I feel like it.

For me I only get oily skin and "DHT itch/burn" when I eat low fat and a lot of sugar. Also caffeine. Anything that seems to make my oxidation rate TOO FAST.

If I eat balanced meals (fat, protein, carb) focussed on potassium/magnesium I feel fine.

It sucks that I am sensitive to foods causing hairloss. Then you have the guys pounding junkfood everyday with no (exterior) problems.

I am lucky my hairline is good. I only have crown thinning. I can use a little bit of Toppik and I look like I have full head of hair. Still I would like to get regrowth and stop the hairloss.

Is there anything more I can try?

I see a lot of guys promoting brushing the scalp. Kinda similar to salt scrubs I guess except salt has beneficial effect on scalp.

Cool. This works because sulfur?

I am already putting a lot of shit on my head at this point LOL. The whole day/night there is something on my head. I bet people think I smell funny.

"This dude smells like onions and garlic and what the fuck is that smell!?!? This dude crazy!"

Luckily I was born without any fucks to give. I will try that stuff.

Yea raw onions are hard on the stomach. Burns in the mouth too. Cannot imagine drinking juice. Maybe you can take taurine if you want to have higher sulfur intake.

I take taurine sometimes. It stops shedding for me when I take it. Just like when I eat high amount of other sulfur food like onion and garlic.

Now I just eat garlic and onion everyday. My breath is probably unbearable.
