I am supplementing with copper btw... to up my copper levels post MSM.

Why is it so widely believed that on MSM, the reason you feel like shit (headaches, etc, and get acne) is due to DETOXING? IDK if I buy that shit...

I mean you were taking over 10 grams of it LOL, that is a lot especially when just starting

I will admit, my hand injury pain is starting to come back now :(

I am iffy on MSM though..

Why not try organic sulfur instead?

Shedding like a bitch ever since I stopped MSM.

It's making me kind of think of hopping back on, at a lower dose, and giving it a second go (and the fact that it eliminated my wrist/hand pain, it is powerful stuff, VERY useful for sports).

I am very concerned about using it longterm and the copper chelating properties of it, long term....

Thoughts???

Very interesting podcast on MSM from a doctor who was following some people who were using MSM, at high dosages.

Dr. Garrett Smith was also using MSM himself.

This is a must listen.

5 minerals went down in hair test, in everyone taking high dose MSM (2 weeks after starting MSM):

Calcium, Copper, Iron, Maganese, Barium

Make sense it would help hair shedding for a slow oxidizer. Might look into this when I get my Feb hairtest results.

I'm tempted to use MSM right now... mostly for some random weird ass pain in my foot, and to boost my hand/wrist injury.

It just plain works and it works way too good, for joint/bone and little nagging injuries. That is HUGE when you're playing sports hard.

I will perhaps start at 1g a day...

Good to know what minerals it depletes.

Keep us posted on your hairtest sir.

I'd be curious to hear how you get on with MSM for hair.

Yeah... it really did stop noticeable shedding when brushing. I think when I washed it was about the same though.

Just downed 1g of MSM... here we go (again).

Going to stay at 1g/day, dosed in the morning, and see how this goes...

Will be interesting to see if this is enough to clear up my hand/wrist pain too. (like before, on 10g)

I'm doing 2g a day, taken at once, in the morning only.

So far so good.

I feel like I'm juicing on this stuff.

Aches and pains are a thing of the past. My injured hand heals right up and I'm not even worried about stressing it with heavy weight.. I know it will handle it.

msm information must read

If it worked that fast one has to wonder if it's just all in your head.

using approx 2g a day. This is really, amazing stuff for sports and strength training of all kinds. Takes care of any joint/bone pain or injuries in little time.

I am going to stop for now though (and monitor my hand pain, right now it's gone, even when lifting heavy++ weight and everything).

I do feel like it is thinning out transplanted hair... I took pictures, and will see how it goes in a few weeks, if it gets thicker, as it should (transplanted area).

FYI...I may be forced to get back on MSM sooner, if my hand injury acts up.. it literally is that good. May try just 1g/day... see how low I can go with it still helping joints.

@TubZy I'm having trouble finding the post where gbold talks about bamboo extract and specifically why it's good for hair, etc.

Can you pls halp?

I'm about to buy some to test.

FYI.. regarding MSM. Very predictably, once you're off it for a few days, joint pain that you previously had starts to show up again, and your nails are nowhere near as hard (on MSM they are almost impossible to bite off). Still monitoring effects on hair but now with my 2nd time on/off MSM I am pretty certain it thins out my hairline, unfortunately. Will continue to monitor.
