This is a cool series of articles. Thanks for posting.

It's funny, I've been dieting like crazy and cardio, plus starting using blood sugar herbs to keep blood sugar low while avoiding carbs. My digestion has improved and I always remembered ppl describing inflammation & gut bacteria (bad bacteria) thrives off of sugars...

So part of why fasting helps is two fold... 1) it helps drop bad bacteria , or such infections by starving it. 2) It up regulates AR as well as boosts IGF & protects cells.

I think @bruschi11 will agree it's a whole body approach and gut health is a big one. I recall during my initial crash, I took it in these steps:

Repair Sleep
Repair thyroid
Repair gut
Repair hormones

I probably tried hormones first before gut but think it would've been better in this order...

Coincidentally , I found this quote regarding magnesium on another site:

When a nerve impulse stimulates a muscle, calcium and sodium enter the cells, and magnesium and potassium exit the cells, this results in muscle contraction. So when you have an inadequate amount of magnesium (as well as insufficient thyroid hormones), a muscle cannot fully relax as some of the intracellular calcium remains inside the cell. This constant elevated intra-cellular calcium decreases androgen receptors (10). More on magnesium here…

During my initial crash, magnesium really negatively affected me but I'm wondering if we have calcium stuck in muscles, including penile tissue, that needs to work itself out... either with magnesium , calcium or apple cider vinegar... might be something to add during the fight off of inflammation ...

@joekool of course if you are slow oxidizer you have calcium , prolactin retains calcium. So calcium stops thyroid hormone from entering the cell.

SHBG is high. and you have low free testosterone.

This is why tons of people got better on magnesium and zinc, etc which I rec'd in electrolytes protocol and pyroluria treatment

The whole idea of TEI is regulating these cellular minerals. Since everything is regulated by them.

Fasting lowers carbs, without carbs you don't make NADPH, so your DHT levels fall.

this is why you fast and some feel better , but then eat and feel worse again.

this is why MarioVItaly, felt totally cured on vitamin K2. since vitamin K2 was lowering calcium in his blood.

the body is retaining too much calcium by mistake.

this is what I saw on tests of Barbaar

Some posts we were talking about it.

If calcium is retained too much , then this can slow down thyroid. and stop estrogen release. this is why SHBG is high.

then progesterone is RAISED to retain potassium. Thus people have high progesterone.

@joekool This is why in slow oxidizers, DHT does not convert into 3a- adiol, since 3a-adiol is gaba agonist. And gaba increases calcium in the cell. and takes out potassium out of the cell.

So if you lower calcium or increase potassium. or thyroid. then the body wants more calcium and it converts DHT into 3a-adiol and DHT level falls which then allows estrogen and 3b -adiol and SHBG falls down.

This is how magnesium LOWERS SHBG

@joekool this is why cortisol supplements cured some people from PFS, mostly slow oxidizers

Since cortisol causes calcium losses and stops calcium absorption and takes calcium out of the cell.
