I was quite surprised nystatin (antifungal) also worked on PSSD for some, although not cured. Did you try that? I know it's not the same, but the direction is kinda similar.

Theres a log of someone with PFS who got cured by using several antifungals, nystatin being one of tem, maybe one of the PFS guys remember that

The gastrointestinal parasite Entamoeba histolytica secretes serotonin, causing a sustained secretory diarrhea in some people.[17][92] Patients infected with E. histolytica have been found to have highly elevated serum serotonin levels, which returned to normal following resolution of the infection.[93] E. histolytica also responds to the presence of serotonin by becoming more virulent.[94] This means serotonin secretion not only serves to increase the spread of enteamoebas by giving the host diarrhea but also serves to coordinate their behaviour according to their population density, a phenomenon known as quorum sensing. Outside the gut of a host, there is nothing that the entoamoebas provoke to release serotonin, hence the serotonin concentration is very low. Low serotonin signals to the entoamoebas they are outside a host and they become less virulent to conserve energy. When they enter a new host, they multiply in the gut, and become more virulent as the enterochromaffine cells get provoked by them and the serotonin concentration increases.

holy shit

This looks like a good test - I’ve done the Genova one, but this looks more detailed - although maybe Genova have all the extras as add-ons.

One thing that is surprising is you’ve got growth of lactobacillus. Did you stop all probiotics and/or fermented foods 2 weeks before the test?

Didn't make any specific diet changes before the test, but I don't take probiotics

Will go the herbal route first, but considering my levels of the parasite I'm pretty sure I'll end up taking the same antibiotics, this test was done at the diagnostic solutions lab.

I had this same test done, if anyone's interested. I'm PFS:

Probiotics never ever worked for me, I mean outside of yogurt/ kefir.
Never tried them for PFS except accidentally, when they were incl. inside of a dig. enzyme supplement I bought. It was terrible, vs, normal full spectrum or plant based enzymes. I don't think prebiotics did either.
My digestion's pretty good, but was usually like that. Some more gains, 3-4lb of water retention/ fat lost... and probably there again, but I'm expecting TEI will mess it up, temporarily. It was terrible tho (beyond anything I ever imagined 6-7mo ago).

Have you discussed the outstanding results with your GP? It shows that all pfs ppl have some sort of gut issues.
I actually got the test through my chiro/alternative medicine doctor and he put me on some probiotics and an herbal gut flora balancing supp:

1MD Platinum Complete Probiotic Supplement With Prebiotic Fiber

Standard Process - Gut Flora Complex

Main thing I've noticed is that my stools are generally more consistent and no longer green. They had been green for like 6 months. Other than that any effects have so far been subtle. Been using these for almost a couple months now. I'd used other probiotics in the past, but this 1MD is the only one I've actually noticed benefits from.

I plan to keep using these for maybe 4 more months before getting another stool test.

Can you ask him what this treatment is exactly for? What issues does he want to get cured? You obviously have several issues (as I do as well).
My sugg.: Research all that problematic stuff even if it takes you several weeks.
What I know is that without changing your diet you won't solve those problems.
My opinion. Best

Some of my biggest issues are weight loss, low energy, malabsorption, and food sensitivity, and he's hoping to fix these by treating the gut microbiome. I'm on a very strict anti-inflammatory diet as well, only eating carbs with dinner and only as complex carbs. This guy isn't really a nutritionist though, so I've kind of been on my own trying to work out what foods are best for me.

Alright. I don't see any calprotectin levels. Tested? What is the diagnosis? Morbus, leaky? Malabsorption, okay, but of what? Fats? Proteins? VERY important.
Yeah, do research on your stuff, helps a lot..Tired? Test on mitochondrial dysfunction!
Take R-ALA and NADH and check if you get better within a week.
I guess, just a guess, that eating carbos even complex ones doesn't help you. Eating fat would help fighting inflammatory issues. But I guess you cannot absorb fats properly or at least some. Maybe I can help you within the next two weeks. What diagnosis do you have? That is important for me.
Best

Raven, can I take that test without seeing a nutritionist? Does it only test for three types of parasites?

Hi Bluegrass, I believe you can take the test without seeing a nutritionist. It's the GI map from diagnostic lab solutions.

On the first page of this post I posted a link to my results which show the comprehensive array of bacterium viruses and other parasites tested.
