Maybe we can share what we actually cooked? If we share an idea that we found on the web, we just say so, and then we can share what we did and how we felt on it. We have to re-learn feeling ourselves, and a fast is a great opportunity. I fasted only twice. I can tell that it is true to not break fast with fruits, as I trying it and was stopped by my instinct.

What I (well) cooked: rice flour as a puree, and green beans. I needed the salt. I needed to keep each mouthful a long time in my mouth for saliva. I was feeling like a baby with her first meals!

My second fast was in a group. We got a strange break-fast, but it felt right for everybody. It was raw fresh (salad type) onion with salt and lemon juice... This was the first step, and 2 hours later we had a great chicken and veggies well cooked soup. I am not sure if there was some steered eggs too in it... We were told that having salt was the basis of breaking a fast, and that eating unsalted was not really eating...

Ho great! What a surprise, this is a greek/cyprus recipe! :)
So basically, cook rice in a chicken broth. Mix egg and lemon juice, then add some broth to the mix, and put it all in the soup without boiling the egg.

Ya I really enjoyed eating it, and plan to make even when not breaking a fast, makes a nice thick broth.

The worse is if you have to do the chicken broth yourself in your home while still fasting... Holly good smell!

I have found when reading about Breuss cure, that he talks about an onion broth, which I took last year when fasting ill in bed, good for bronchitis. Spanish mothers give it to ORL ill children. Onion was part of my last break-fast protocol.

Then instead of onion, he advises for green bean broth for liver, and it was my choice after my 1st fast. Now that my liver is bad, I crave green beans!
Might be those 2 veggies are good options in the chicken broth?

Re: Water fast or Breuss? Bottled or fresh juice?

<r>I'm most likely going to do an extended juice feast or week long water fast coming up soon. I've had a few unfortunate incidents (spider bite, sports injuries), that have required use of pharms again and I'd prefer my system without them. <br/>

I took Gbol's advice and did the lemon egg soup with white rice, super easy to make. I almost didn't do that at the time and was planning on doing straight fruit juice or fruit which would have basically ruined all of your gains from the fast, I'm glad I didn't do that despite what the mainstream type of into tells you how to break a fast.<br/>
<br/>
I did the soup for a couple of days and then broke into more whole foods but never used fruit juice or fruit, just stuck with rice.</r>

Anyone got an opinion on what’s the shortest version of the breuss fast that would still yield great results?

He said you don’t need the full 40+ days unless you’re trying to kill cancer cells.

How many days for general awesomeness Mr Breuss?

Here is mattyb protocol for really long fasts, I recommend the lemon egg soup too for week 1, very good:

Mattyb breaking fast protocol:
Days 1-7
Focus on mineral intake, particularly magnesium, sodium and potassium
Calories will still be low at this point, you'll likely regain some water weight but continue to lose fat
Vegetable broths, soups, well cooked vegetables, cooked leafy greens, etc.
Maybe some rice
Minimal herbs/spices
A bit of fats (eggs, butter) mixed in with the soups
Not very much protein, if any
Introduce food/calories slowly

Days 7-21
Anything from days 1-7 would be fine
Calorie intake will be slightly low, trending towards maintenance near the third week
Fresh vegetables and greens marinated in olive oil/vinegar
Some herbs/spices
More rice, maybe some well-cooked oats, small amounts of fruit, possibly small amounts of tubers
Small amounts of well cooked meat/seafood daily (slow roasted would be a good option)
Increase fat and protein gradually to get pancreas and gallbladder up to speed over these two weeks.

Days 21+
Everything from before is fine
Calories should be around maintenance near this point
By this point you should be able to exercise easily
More fruit, more carbohydrates (according to activity levels)
More foods high in manganese (oats, cereals, etc.) if well tolerated
More meat (and/or supplement zinc)
Tubers could be introduced if well tolerated
Should be hitting near the RDA of most vitamins/minerals by this point, with maybe the exception of calcium and vitamins e/d.
If digestion is robust at this point you can likely eat whatever your intuition is pushing you towards

I did a 1 week juice fast. They were not the exact components of a Breuss fast, but what I had.

DAY 1 I decided to break fast with the same veggies, but eating the fiber. They are totally crushed, I just mix the juice and the fiber, except if I juice beet root. Then I put vinegar in it, salt to taste. I decided this in order to get the 4oz apple vinegar during 6 days before doing a liver flush. I do not want to use apples as I want to stay sugar free.

DAY 2 Added some greens cut very finely, like parsley, fennel green, dandelion, and an onion cut very finely. 1 tsp of my mix of coconut oil and turmeric. And an egg, raw and whole, because I had put too much vinegar...

DAY 3 To the same, I added a little olive oil, and a mix of a few pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds.

Would juicing maybe a quart a day of fresh vegetables be ok as part of the "breaking fast week"? For my 21 day breuss fast, I'm looking at a solid week refeed.

Right now I'm looking at bone broth with rice and lemon egg soup for my re-feed meals, but wouldn't mind incorporating some juices to help provide lost nutrients.

I think that is we use juices during the fast it is logical that going on with them is good, maybe as breakfast, and then add some more food. You can add the pulp from the juice to your soup! Also, re-feeding has to include salt, it is VERY important.

What do you think about unsweetened stewed apples? Not right away and not alone because of sugar of course. But the pectine for liver...
