interesting, so judging by my hair test from last year (unless it changed) you said I was a fast oxidizer... so would taurine be a no-no for me? My hair has only gotten mildly thicker since I crashed but that could be because I'm eating even healthier too...

Can you post your hair test? I'm interested to see what it says.

This may sound silly but have you tried gaining body fat %? If I remember correctly you said you were about 8% (very lean). Say, if you just eat like a truck (protein and fat, sausages, dairy, liver) and gain to around 15% body fat - that might solve the diffuse protein wasting hair loss by itself? It seems like in fast oxidation you burn through your micro and macro nutrients too quickly, so you have none left to create hair (among other important things, i'm assuming).

yeah i'm trying put on weight now. I'm probably like 12% no. I don't want to go over that. I looked great at 8% but for my healthy I'm compromise and try to keep it 10-12%

all my labs I posted here. Stool, blood, hair

https://raypeatforum.com/community/threads/ru58841-crash-story-anti-androgen-seems-like-post-finasteride-sydndrome.19211/#post-259431

my main focus is to get all the functions I lost before I crashed... keeping hair is cherry on top. I feel like i aged like 5 years in 5 months from this bullshit lol. Though when girls guess my age they still guess younger so that's probably a lot of it coming from self-conciousness of not being 100%

Found a pretty decent 2% zinc shampoo
https://www.amazon.com/Noble-Formula-Shampoo-Pyrithione-Zinc/dp/B07614234J
https://www.amazon.com/Vanicream-Medicated-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-sensitive/dp/B06WD8YQKL/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1508466866&sr=1-1&keywords=2%25+Pyrithione+shampoo
https://www.amazon.com/DermaHarmony-Pyrithione-Zinc-Liquid-Castile/dp/B01MZ83LQX

Could be worth trying...add some manganese gluconate to it (and maybe some B6 too) and letting it dissolve in the shampoo (should dissolve it quick) and let it sit for 10 minutes or so in the shower, that would be interesting to see if anything improves.

Zinc pyrithione has some pro hair benefits on its own too.

the aspirin drys my hair out way too much even more in conjunction mixed with shampoos probably from the additional cleansers in it, but the other ingredients in the shampoo work well.

Did you guys experience any skin shedding from salt scrubbing?

I think I overdid it somehow and got some blood crusts. 2 days after that my skin shed.
And something like pores /pimples on the scalp? Similar to -but not acne. And not inflamed. Idea ? gbolduev

was listening to haidut podcast with Danny Roddy and he was sayin how aspirin can make intestines bleed first 3 days but then goes back to baseline... anything that makes my intestines bleeds kinda creeps me out to use lmao.

No skin shedding but it kinda of dried my skin out on my face and scalp a bit. It might be better to use it EOD

He says the salt should be used aggressively and even for him it made his hair look lifeless for a while. It damages your scalp and makes hair looks worse, I’ve been pulling a fair bit out as I scrub, but he says eventually your hair will be strong and unable to be pulled out.

Interesting.. I am 160lbs now @ 5ft9.

When I was 190lbs (and ate ANYTHING I want included lots of junk garbage food) my hair was thick and had no issues at all.

I was of course younger, lifting very weights (I still workout) but not like before.

ALSO, I was on clomid pills (25mg per day) when I was younger. Could this have good for my hair??? My hair was great when I was on it, once again, and so was libido and everything, once again... I was also younger though.

I wonder if I made a conscious effort to gain bodyfat, if it would help my hair... HMMMMM.

Diffuse protein wasting hair loss can be fixed by using Progesterone, is that right? But not AGA type hair loss? I ask because I was on 100mg of oral progesterone (from natura health) for like 7 months and I've stopped it about 2-3 weeks ago. Instead of using that, I am using 22mg zinc/10mg manganese. Not sure if my hair is getting better or worse though, concerned it's getting worse. HOWEVER.. I am getting hornier than I was on Prog, and my dick has more sensation.

I am so lost I have no idea wtf I am doing anymore in regards to hair loss. I just know I don't want to touch fin/dut. I already made the mistake of using RU58841 (which killed my hairline in 3 months, then I stopped it).

FYI - I feel like my hair loss really KICK-STARTED or even STARTED completely in 2012 when I did a megadose of Vitamin B5 (10grams+ a day for 2-3 months for acne). There are many people who lose hair from using high dose B5, even for yearsssss after. I understand it reduces biotin, but it must also do something else...

Wondering what I should do right now.

I really don't know if my hair loss is AGA or diffuse protein wasting hair loss.

What would the safest solution be?

I am ready to try anything at this point.

All I need to do is KEEP the current hair I have, I am not looking to regrow anything or expecting miracles. I just want to keep what I have.

Hey JonnyCraig

I megadosed on B5 for at least a few months too years ago and that was when I first noticed shedding. Hair quality has been declining since then but it's hard to differentiate from natural aging. Recently tried the zing/manganese, and thorne extras, but felt shitty on them. Gbol recommended that I take copper (I had low WBC and high TSH in my latest labs), and I have been feeling good and noticed a cut in shedding. I stopped all other supplements and now just take 2mg copper, some Taurine and MSM daily. I wonder how the contrarian endocrinology plays into this since I'm feeling good from copper.

I tried the Polysorbate 80 for a few weeks with high hopes but instead noticed only a hefty increase in shedding. Also my hair was constantly stripped of natural oils so the benefit of no-poo for hair texture was abated. There's a chance that the shedding was in fact a sign of P80 working and those were all hairs that would grow back stronger, but as the shed continued daily for 3 weeks I eventually gave up. Now I'm off and shedding is back down. I also read that it's estrogenic when applied topically (there's a study on rats for this), but the P80 crew over at RPF shot down any slander against this magic (snake?) oil.

If you’re following gbolduev’s advice then it’s either zinc/mang for typical aga hairloss or peat diet lots of calcium/copper for more diffuse thinning.

Progesterone wasn’t his recommendation. He says it will oppose testosterone and that alone should rule it out as a treatment.

Do you have diffuse or alopecia? Have you done a hair test?

Could you agenda get anymore obvious? I mean now you're calling it snake oil?

If you're gonna mention studies at least mention them ACCURATELY.

"The effects of polysorbate 80 at oral gavage doses of up to 5 g/kg/day for 3 consecutive days on uterine growth of immature female rats, a commonly used in vivo mammalian assay for estrogenic activity, have been determined. ... Polysorbate 80 administered orally to rats had no effect on uterine weight.Mar 14, 1997"

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9096282

Notice the words ORAL DOSES. Last I checked nobody told you to ingest 5g's of the sh*t, you don't have a uterus, and you aren't neonatal. That's the thing with some of you undercover shills - something doesn't work for you or is cost effective then out comes the slandering.

I can only speak for myself here, but I wish I had found P80 years ago. It would've saved me a ton of shedding and the recession of my hairline. I'm about 3 months in now and it continues to amaze me the change in my hair quality. In the MPB regions my hair was diffused, wirey, lifeless, and nearly impossible to style. Those hairs are now noticeably thicker, the coverage is better, and they're straighter now. Also important to note is that the painful acne I was experiencing on the back of my scalp is now gone and nowhere to be found (same for the oily scalp).

The next step is to find a viable regrowth protocol to couple with it. I may even consider FUE now that I know I won't have to be a slave to Finasteride in order to try to maintain.

Just as you were on RPF, you're taking all slander against P80 as a personal attack on you. No need to take offense, surely to each his own. I don't see any agenda on my part, the only hint of an agenda was the affiliate link you posted with the P80 you use.

I'm glad the stuff works for you, but if others report differently so be it. Let's keep it objective.

m_arch - I'm not exactly sure which classification is correct for me, but I'm leaning towards diffuse. Hairline is still pretty good but there's an overall loss in density and it's a bit more noticeable at the crown. I have a hair test scheduled in a few weeks.

Affiliate link? It was a link to Amazon where I purchased mine when SOMEONE ELSE prompted me for it.

There's no being objective. You've blatantly misrepresented information TWO times. I heard about posters like you on RPF drowning out anyone recommending anything outside of a Peat protocol. Really wish they hadn't shared this site with you if this is how you're going to continue.

Have fun with your uterus.

Yes, the Amazon links you provided were affiliate/referral links.

I have no loyalty to Peat's doctrines, posting on this forum should be proof enough. I've read accounts of various people who noticed either no change from P80, increased shedding, decreased growth, increased growth, decreased shedding. Basically any possible variation, not too conclusive IMO.

In that case it might help to gain some weight. Ultimately the hair test will tell you though. Are you doing yours with trace elements? They seem to be the best

Also as scenes said above, calcium and copper seems to be the better supplement for this type. But i think you better review the hair test to see you are a straight forward fast oxidiser before you supplement.
